The challenge
Autonomous agents are starting to buy and sell from each other, and the boring prerequisites are missing: an account a machine can operate safely, an identity a counterparty can check, a reputation that cannot be gamed for free, and a way to pay for a single request. The task was to build that base layer as one coherent system - and to be honest at every step about what is proven and what is not.
The approach
We composed three open standards instead of inventing a platform. ERC-4337 smart accounts give agents non-custodial wallets with guardian modules for recovery and spending guardrails. ERC-8004 registries give them stable on-chain identity and a reputation record. x402 makes payments part of the HTTP conversation: request, 402 challenge, USDC payment, response.
The design decision that ties the system together is payment-gated reputation. Anyone can hold an opinion about an agent; the registry weighs the opinions of parties that verifiably paid for the service they are rating. Dishonesty is not impossible - it is merely no longer free.
Distribution was treated as part of the protocol, not an afterthought. The same capabilities ship three ways: an MCP server (so agents integrate in minutes), a TypeScript SDK (@azeth/sdk on npm), and a CLI. The MCP server practice we offer clients comes directly from this build.
The result
Shipped and running: smart-account factory, guardian and trust-registry modules, payment and reputation flows, an explorer web app, MCP server, SDK, and CLI - deployed to Ethereum Sepolia and Base Sepolia at identical CREATE2 addresses on both networks. The contract addresses are public and listed with verification links on /open.
The result is stated in shipped scope, not usage numbers, because that is what is true today: Azeth is testnet alpha, not for production use with real assets, and has had no external security audits yet. Its own imprint says the same. When those sentences change, this page changes.
